Notes

I was just looking in my scriptures, and found a note that my roommate Moe wrote me at church during Sunday school (yes we do listen, don't worry.) Moe and I have a good friendship, and we have been told we are very entertaining together to watch. (video proof of that later..) She does some of the most random things..and I think this note could explain our friendship a little more. It's such a good one, that I have to share it. I have been blessed with great roommates, and truthfully the best one's that I have had yet while here at school. I wouldn't trade them for anything. They have nicknames for Moe and I..."David and Goliath". Her height could explain it..and my height as well. But enjoy this great note she wrote me once upon a time...its hilarious. You may not understand everything..but this is how great my apartment is. How great my roommates are. I sure will miss them after this semester.

Dear Kelsey Lyn Stutz,
I just really wanted to take the time and let you know how much I appreciate you, but also how sorry I am for anything I have ever done to you or your surroundings.
1. Thank you for moving in with me.
2. Thank you for buying me Gator Jacks sandwich one time..
3. Thank you for going to work everyday & bringing in the money for our apartment family.
4. Thank you for inviting me to the ropes course, it was the highlight of my week.
5. Thank you for walking to Taco Bell in the rain with me.
6. Thank you for having so many boyfriends.
Apologies...
1. Sorry I make fun of you a lot.
2. Sorry I put confetti on your bed and fan
3. Sorry I don't always have dinner ready when you get home from work.
4. Sorry I watched Stick It without you.
5. Sorry I hid in your sleeping bag and tried to scare you..but you found me. And then I just looked like a creep hiding in your bed.
6. Sorry I made you play racquetball the other day, we really stunk in there.
7. Sorry I go to bed early every night instead of hanging out with you.
8. Sorry I made a Not to do list on the mirror for you
9. Sorry I throw stuff at you and fall asleep on your floor often, on accident.
10. Most of all, Sorry I gave you a bruise from punching.
I hope you accept my apologies :)
Love, Maureen Mickey

This was our walk to taco bell in the rain..things you do for friends. We were soaked.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

It's Father's Day, and we all know what that means..I have the best dad in the world!! Well, that's what it means to me anyways. I love my dad, and he deserves the best father's day around. Once it again its always a bummer when you can't be home for all these holidays. But, I have all these great pictures to keep as memories..I wish i had one's from when i was younger with my dad, because those are so priceless. Thanks to my dad, I have learned a lot of the not so much homemaking skills. Those of course are credited to my mom. My dad got me into a love for the outdoors, and taught me not to be a pansy. (also thanks to my brothers..who learned it from my dad.) Because of my dad, I have been able to see and live in different parts of the United States. A lot of people would hate moving, but I for one loved it. He taught me to mow the lawn (one of my favorite summer activities). Our camping trips, hiking, fishing. One day last summer, my mom was out of town so my dad and I went fishing for pretty much the whole day. He bought me my first fishing license at the age of 22! I loved it! Sadly though, he was the only one that caught fish. Mine was slacking. But nevertheless, he taught me how to fish. Most importantly though, my dad is one of the most understanding people I know, and he stands by my side whenever I need him. He is very good at putting up with all my crazy ideas and adventures I want to go on..I'm pretty sure he knows what i'm talking about. Last summer I probably came up with at least 10 ideas...and the rowing team in Portland was one of them. He just laughed at me. He has taught me to not be afraid to try new things, and go out on my own. He has taught me to love, and to give of yourself. My dad is one of a kind to me, and will always be the best dad to me. Happy Father's Day Dad! I love you, and appreciate all that you have done for me and helped me to become.

P.S I'm sorry i never took up Golf...I will always love to be your golf cart driver though.

I Belong To The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

I have been trying to read from the conference ensign from the past April, and I cam across a great quote that I just loved. It made me so grateful to be a member of this church, and the true true importance of it. Its not easy, but its so worth every bit.

"If someone is looking for a church that requires very little, this is not the one. It is not easy to be a Latter-Day Saint, but in the long run it is the only course."  -President Boyd K. Packard

Tin Foil Hats

Signs Movie

Our re-make..Spectacular, I know.
I dont know if you knew..but the end of the world was on Saturday. Or it was suppose to be..but that didn't happen. So to celebrate, my roomate Moe had this idea of making tin foil hats as seen in the movie Signs. In the movie they wore these hats, so that aliens wouldn't suck their brains out when they thought the end was coming. Don't worry we aren't that crazy..we didn't think Aliens were going to take over our brains. But it was the thought that counts. And it made for a good picture.

Happy Birthday Momma!

See, you haven't aged one bit! Love you.
Mom its your birthday, and I hope you have the best one yet! (But we all know that its only the best when all of us are there). Still..make it a good one! You look young as ever..and at least you made it through the end of the world scare yesterday to celebrate your birthday! Wish I could be there with you to celebrate, but I will be soon! Love you mom! Happy birthday!

I Am a Child of God

I love love love...love this video. I saw it and immediately thought of my nephews and niece. It describes perfectly who each one of us are, and the love that our Heavenly Father has for us. Today in church we learned to become like little children, so I thought this video was very fitting. I love this Gospel, and I keep learning how amazing it is each day. Literally. Without this gospel, I wouldn't have the family that I have, the friends, the truth, testimony, and I wouldn't be where I am today. Something to be grateful for everyday.

Photoshoot

I have to share these, because they are too funny not too. More like the reason why we have professional photography pictures done of us..it was not our choice. But..it was the best thing to happen. Today Moe, Annette and I went to play frisbee..once we got sick of that we went and wandered campus, specifically into the gardens. They have a cool new section here in the Gardens on campus that looks like old ruins, and then they have these statues everywhere. We were just out taking some pictures, and we wanted one of all 3 of us. There was a guy there just doing some of his own photography, so we simply asked if he would take a picture of us with one of our phones. He looked at us, and asked if we would rather have him just take a photo of us on his camera, and then he would send them to us. So there we were..and here they are. We didn't think they would be this good..in fact we didn't even know he was a professional. But he is big time. It was just really random and funny..but yet they turned out really good. If we would of known we were going to get a photo shoot today..we would of dressed up a little more. Don't mind our clothes..we were in Frisbee attire.

Mom's Day

Dresses made for me by my mom..the last one is my favorite. I call it the amish child look..
These dresses are just priceless.
Without my mom..I wouldn't be here, nor would I have the family that I have.
(My brothers and I)

Coeur D' Alene Idaho..a place we both love. Home sweet Home.

Waterton, Canada
(I know my mom won't be a fan of this picture cause her hair is all over the place, but I love it.)
Today in Sacrament meeting I learned something that is very fitting for a day like today. I learned that the first relationship, friendship, and bond that we form here on earth is with our mother. Even before we were born, our mother is the one that we get to know best. Out of all the friendships I have..no one can compare to the friendship that I have with my mom. My mom is the best..its been said over and over, but lets be real. It's true...at least for myself. I couldn't of asked for anyone better than to have the mom that I got, and one that will be my mom..forever. I can proudly say that the relationship with my mom has never failed, and it will never. I have the privilege of being able to talk to my mom each day which I am really grateful for. She is there when I need advice, gives me the updates, and talks to me about the latest things she has been cooking in the kitchen (my mom is the greatest cook..her rolls, amazing.), and she even lets me guess how much she spent on groceries that day with all her coupons. (yeah, my mom is way good at using coupons too..never will I be good at that like she is). I have learned so much from my mom, she is a talented woman and one that I will always admire for the many things that she does. Because of my mom, I absolutely love cooking. We cook up a storm when I go home! She has also been very good at sewing..the one talent that I will prob never get to actually be good at. For example as you can see..she made me dresses all the time. I can't say that they were my favorite, or that I would ever wear them now..cause i never would. sorry mom, they are little too puffy for my liking now. But, back in the day I was one stylin child at church. She also a huge willingness to serve..when I lived at home last summer I was able to see it each day as she took care of my Grandma. She gave up so much to be there with my grandma, and most of her time during the day is devoted to making sure my grandma is well taken care of. There is a million and a half things I could say about my mom right now, but the best thing I could say is that I love my mom and I wouldn't want it any other way. She is my best friend, and I know she always will be. Because of the mother she was to my brothers and I, I know what kind of mother I would like to be.

I love the Oregon Coast

I think I got in trouble for this picture..the flash was on. who gives!

Portland Art Museum

Mom, Dad and Grandma at the Portland Art Museum

Portland Art Museum

We rode the sky tram in Portland..its a cool view being able to go over Portland. Definently worth it!

A little piece of Portland
For spring break I went home to visit my parents for a week. It was a well needed break, and we went out and had some fun! My dad even took off 2 days of work to come hang out with us back in Portland which was way fun. We went downtown portland (Art Museum, Sky Tram), went to the beach (Lighthouse, Tillamook Cheese Factory, Blue Heron Cheese Factory), did some shopping, learned to make some things with my mom, and I did some cooking while I was home. One of my favorite things to do. I also got to be with my Grandma Trone, and when she was feeling well was able to come out and do some things with us. It was a rainy week thats for sure, but that didn't stop it from being a great week! I love being with family!

Rough Terrain..

Snowshoeing!

At the end of last semester..once we were done with classes, finals..everything. We decided we needed something to do, so Sandy and I thought of the idea of going Snowshoeing. Random, but prob the best end to a finals week ever. It was so much fun, and we had some pretty good laughs. We drove until we saw snow, which landed us in Island Park. About 45 minutes out of town. We parked, got our snowshoes on, and then decided to conquer this mountain. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world on snowshoes, but we made it work and defiantly made it to the top. The way down..probably tops it all. It was steep, so really the only way to go down was to either jump, slide, slide some more, roll, tumble..any of those ways will do. But it was hilarious cause sometimes you just couldn't control yourself on the way down. This video is our goodbye video in case we didn't make it down. (Got the idea from Aaron Ralston's goodbye video when he was stuck in a canyon for 127 hours.) I am here to tell you...we made it down safely in our soaking wet jeans, and only 1 snowshoe fell off.

Hallway Roller Table Services

Easiest way to get to class...sinch.

Roomates..They Keep You Entertained

This is a video of two of my roomates, Lindsey and Moe. This was the night I had Laryngitis and they came in and kept me entertained for a bit. This is a little clip of their randomness.

General Conference April 2011!

I got invited to go to the morning first session of general conference, and it was amazing. The talks were really good, and it was just fun to hang around temple square. I went with Rochelle, and her foster sister Jessica, and her friend Susan. Jessica and Susan are both converts to the church, which was cool because it was their first time going to conference. Susan had only been a member for about a week, and she loved it. Jessica is only about 15 or 16, and she was so excited especially to hear President Uchdorf speak. It was a neat experience. It was pretty snowy and cold that day, but that def doesn't keep people from going to conference.

Around the World

We went to Paris

Went on a rollercoaster..great fun!

Even saw Niagra Falls! Katie didnt want her hair to get wet.

Sandy, myself, and Katie took a little adventure around the world one night. Sometimes you just gotta get out of Rexburg....
